Giveaway day is here!




OK, here is my giveaway, hope you like it. There is 8 fat quarters of batik fabrics plus one of my flower brooches and a cute little square pincushion . I also might include a couple of other little sewing notions if I'm feeling super generous and I like your feedback about my brand new blog.So what I want you to do if you want to be in the draw to win this giveaway is to tell me what you think of my blog and work so far (be kind I'm new to all this). Also what your working on at the moment. If your never worked with batiks before there is some projects on my blog for inspiration.Please make the time to visit my friend Deb's blog as she is also hosting a giveaway but got left off the list! I have never used Batiks but always walk past them wondering how to use them...I love your floor cushions!!! We have several for our five boys to use in the living room...they need to be recovered. Hmmmm, I think I'll have to look more closely at those batiks!

Right now I am working on baby stuff...expecting in 100 days! Burp cloths, nursing cover, swaddling blankets.

What a great giveaway. I love batiks more than anything. Right now I'm working on a quilt for my daughter in the fabric of her choosing and it will be nice when it's done. Wasn't fond of the fabric to start and now am seeing stars, but she loves it and that is all that matters!

As for your blog, the header image you chose is beautiful, but a little big. It takes up most of my screen and I have to scroll down to see the posts. Maybe crop the image a bit?

I love the fabric, and your header is beautiful. My one suggestion would be to avoid wrap-around text on wide photos as the narrow columns are harder to read. But that's just minor; overall, your blog is awesome.

Blog feedback: Your quilts are just beautiful - so much love and work has gone into them that I'm sure they are prized possessions. You mentioned that you've made clothes for your daughters too - any chance you've got some photos of them? I'm trying to get into sewing clothes for my son so any hints and tips on that subject would be well appreciated.

As for your blog, I'm liking it. I'm pretty new at the whole blogging thing too, so I feel your angst. Let me just say I am SO impressed with your hand -quilting of your batik quilt. My gosh, your fingers must be raw!

I really like the batik quilt you have down there, the one with the kaffe fasset pattern. I had never heard of batiks until I started patchwork classes. A friend from class is also using batiks for her sampler quilt, and it looks STUNNING. I'll have to give them a try, although I'm kind of scared because at some points my friend had some difficulty with the sewing...

Wow - lovely giveaway! I like your blog - it really is brand-spanking new! Your photos seem really nice (that was really hard for me at first), the layout is very nice, and the content is interesting and just the right amount of "chatty". Keep it going girl!

One thing I would do is to put a link on your sidebar which allows people to begin following your blog (I'll be the first to sign up!) Also, I really love the quilt you made from the Kaffe Fassett pattern - it's really beautiful! The circle quilting really enhances the rich colours.

Right now, I'm working on planning a mini-quilt/table topper in a patriotic theme for a swap - but I haven't decided yet what to do...I'd better hurry up!

You have a LOVELY blog and I really like that you have quilts and other crafts - a feast for the eyes!

I'm mainly a quilter but have been doing some other sewing lately, too. Mostly aprons and shopping bags. I'd like to start a homemade ornament exchange here this year so I'm thinking I should also get started on that!
