It's giveaway time!

Welcome to my third giveaway, and a special welcome if you are new to my blog. I hope you take the time to have a good look around. Feel free to comment on anything that catches your eye, I'd love to hear from you and always reply! I've been working hard in my sewing attic these last couple of days and I hope you like what I've created to giveaway! It has my daughters seal of approval so I think I've got it right.

Okay enough of the chit chat lets tell you what's up for grabs. Firstly I've made the above shopping tote from some pure cotton Balinese batik fabrics. It is fully lined with a large pocket inside and perfect for those farmers markets or for any shopping expeditions.

Next up is a matching shopping list pad cover complete with shopping pad and pen plus another pocket for perhaps your cheque book.

And it has a smart button enclosure to keep everything safe.
And last but definitely not least is 3 fat quarters of pure cotton fabrics. I will also add some other sewing goodies for you to be creative with.

Now what you have to do to be in the draw is to tell me in your comments what your favourite "Christmas family tradition" is in your home. It might be something that you do each year with your children or something that you make or a place that you always visit, what ever it is I would love to read about it.
This giveaway will be open until December 6th and I am happy to send internationally. You can check out all the other Sew Mama Sew giveaways over here. Good luck!!

Don't forget to leave me a way of contacting you too.

What a beautiful farbic you have used. My favourite Christmas family tradition at the moment is that we have no tradition. I am married with no kids and my husband is often overseas with work for Christmas, so we have not been making a big deal over Christmas. However the moment a bub comes along everything will change and there will be traditions galore I think! Thanks for the giveaway :)

What a beautiful giveaway! We have a fairly new tradition and that is making kugelhopf for Christmas breakfast. We went to Europe a couple of years ago and had it there and it is such a pretty pastry that it became our Christmas tradition.

What a fantastic giveaway Catherine! I love the batiks you have used for the bag and shoppinglistcover especially. First class work!

We have no special christmas tradition nowadays (other than making and opening presents) but when I was little I remember us going to visit friends in Germany for Christmas and going to the midnight mass to a very picturesque church in the middle of a small village in the mountains. Giant trees around and lots of snow.. I never forget the atmosphere... I was of course very little (maybe that is why those trees were so big!) but it has made a big impression on me.

Thanks for the chance to win in a fabulous giveaway!

How pretty, thank you for being so generous! My favorite tradition these days is the tree. We go out as a family to tag a tree on Thanksgiving weekend; we wander the whole farm debating the merits of each possibility before making a final decision and hanging a tag near the top. Then, the weekend before the holiday we go out, once again as a family, to cut it down and bring it home.

Christmas Family Tradition
Every year when I was a child my mom bought my brother and I a "Special Ornament", an ornament that reflected that year. Now that I am grown and have two children of my own (Hannah 5 & Aiden 3) I carry on that tradition and find it heart warming and fun to pick out that special ornament for my children.

gorgeous! we always put out a wooden nativity scene but leave baby jesus out until Christmas eve. then everyone gets together and sings silent night while the youngest child puts baby jesus into the manger.

My favorite tradition is the music. Listening to it, singing it, caroling, and bringing out my Christmas china, making tea in the pot and using the mugs all month long.

I fell in love with that bag the second I saw it, to me it is my favorite giveaway that I have seen, I would love to win it.

I love Erica's comment, we did that for years, my kids would get matching pjs that I would make, a Christmas book and an ornament, the intention being they take the ornaments when they move out for their own trees. Now that they are young adults they come home and we still do the pjs and ornaments. They don't always match, but we look forward to it every year.

Lovely bag! Christmas tradition used to be going to grandma's house but she passed away this summer. Instead, my family is coming out to california to be with me and we're going to celebrate what would have been grandma's 90th birthday this month. Now, we'll have to create a new tradition. But, whatever it is, grandma would want it to be fun for us...and it will be!

i saw your first giveaway and went "OOH!" and then i scrolled down to find there was another gorgeous one... and then there was another beneath that! i can't decide which i'd like more... maybe the shopping tote, just because i've been recently keeping my eye out for a good one to make.
our family christmas tradition includes three separate celebrations: christmas eve at our home with my mum's family, christmas morning with just my nuclear family, and christmas brunch with my father's family. it;s been that way as long as i an remember... except for last year, when we got so much snow that christmas was effectively cancelled... boo. Crossing my fingers for snow in January this year.
thanks for helping to make giveaway day as awesome as it is! :)

I just love the bag.......tradition is celebrating Christmas in the morning and then in the afternoon we celebrate my son's birthday. He still remembers the cake from year six...it was a Black Forest Cake (made from scratch..I must have been crazy)

Your gifts for the giveaway are awesome! My favorite holiday tradition was always making hard candy the day after Thanksgiving. My mom and I, my aunt and cousins, and my grandma would all get together and work on it and mix each flavor together in a huge bowl. Then, after it was all finished, we would package it up in baby food jars with decorated lids to give away to friends, neighbors, bus drivers, etc...

For years and years, we have made homemade ornaments for each other in my family. I don't know exactly when it started, but I was still living at home, for I remember sitting at the kitchen table with my mom, making ornaments. If you visit any of our homes (mom or siblings) you will see the same decorations on all our trees! (This year I am making fabric birds, designed by Linda Lum Debono.)

We have an annual tradition with a bunch of friends. We take all our kids on a train ride through an outdoor light display and then come back to our place for hot chocolate and socializing while the kids watch a Christmas movie downstairs.

I think my favorite tradition is the opening of gifts and eating of good food on christmas eve with the whole family.

these are absolutely gorgeous!!! thank you for your generosity. you will be making someone really happy!
my favourite family tradition was inherited from my inlaws when i got married (my family didn't have many traditions so i was glad to finally gain some). at midnight everyone takes one shoe off and we put our presents for that person around her/his shoe and they do the same around our shoe, and so on. everyone is hoping around with just one shoe on and it«s really funny!

Love the bag! Thanks for a chance to win! My family loves to drive around and look at the Christmas lights with hot chocolate in the travel mug. :)

I love the shopping list pouch idea, it would be very useful no doubt, shopping list on one side with the coupons on the other.
We don't yet have a firm Christmas tradition in place, my daughter is 3 years old, and this is the first Christmas she is really aware of what is going on. She picked the tree, and insisted on the smallest one available, because it was "little just like me".

Great giveaway, great blog! I love to make Xmas cookies and decorate them with the kids.

Being a young married couple with two under 2, we're just starting our own traditions! I'm excited to see what they'll all be... I try to bake Christmas baskets for family and friends, and neighbours that have helped us out in the year.

My favourite things about Christmas: Singing all the Christmas hymns and carols in church. Being warm and toasty inside while there's blankets of snow outside and the wind blows. Visiting with family and friends. Seeing Christmas greenery everywhere! Pepernoten, speculaas, chocolate letters (traditional dutch holiday treats).

My favorite holiday tradition is taking my son around town to admire all the beautiful lights and decorations. It's so much fun to hear how delighted he gets at seeing all the festive decor.

My favorite tradition and really the only one we had was when I was younger. We would go to Midnight mass and then over to my great aunt's house for food, presents and family.... It was the best part of christmas because I was an only child and so was my cousin so this was then the entire extended family got together and it was always fun. The family has all passed on but I think of them fondly this time of year!

Adorable! Thanks for being part of the giveaway. I don't know that I have any real traditions yet as an adult (and mommy!). As a child, I loved going to my grandmother's to help her bake for our family's huge Christmas Eve party. We'd make fruit cake cookies, Martha Washingtons, chocolate-covered pretzels, spiced pecans and all kinds of other goodies. On Christmas Eve, we'd all go to the Candlelight Communion service then head back to her house. She'd play the piano and we'd all sing along, eat those yummy treats and exchange gifts with our cousins. Then, we'd stand outside and see who could spot Rudolph guiding Santa's sleigh over her house (it was really an airplane flying overhead but we were amazed nonetheless!!!). As a mom, we now make Reindeer Food for my boys' classmates and sprinkle some on our lawn after we get back from the Christmas Eve service at church.

When I was little and we were still heating with wood, my father and I would put my letter to Santa in the wood furnace, in the belief that the smoke would carry it up the chimney and away to the North Pole. :)

I forgot my favorite Christmas tradition. Hmmm... there are so many. When my boys were young we used to go out in the field and cut down a cedar tree to decorate. Now we usually buy a more "refined" tree from a tree farm.

Beautiful fabrics and love the finished tote with matching note pad cover. My honey and I started buying small tree's that are potted ea. year. Then we plant it and watch it grow each year. Our first tree was a small colorado blue spruce which is now over 10 feet tall. We moved a couple years ago, but I got to see it when we were visiting back near the old place. Once we get settled perm. we plan on picking up this tradition again to watch our little forest grow.

My little family has only just started so our traditions have yet to grow, though my favourite from my own family home would have to be putting up the Christmas tree. I loved going through all the decorations and seeing all the old favourtes come out, especially the ones that had been handmade by us.

my daughter just turn one month old so we don't have any traditions yet. our old one was that hubby and i will go cut down a tree at the local tree farm the day after thanksgiving. our new tradition will be getting a small live tree so the tree grows with our daughter. I'll be making a handmade ornament for her each year.

We have few traditions. We have christmas dinner on the 24th in the evening. Wake up to homemade cinnamon rolls, read Santa's letter and open the stockings. Have breakfast, open some gifts and play. Have a snack, open another present, lunch, naps, continue. It lasts all day, we take our time, enjoy each other, we are PJs and have fun with our new toys.

We walk around to see Christmas lights, the Zoo Lights. Go up to the woods to get our tree (from a place they'd be cut anyways), get out ornaments and tell stories about where each one came from.

Make gingerbread house, make cookies, make our gifts, have fun together. I just love this time of the year.

Thanks so much for your wonderful giveaway. Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful giveaway!! Thanks so much for having it!

One tradition that ended some time ago was when my paternal grandmother used to make us homemade cinnamon rolls and bring them to us. She didn't have the money to go shopping for "gifts" but made those every year. Even with the recipe, we can't top what she did. It was never Christmas until we had those rolls! Man, I still miss them.

My favourite tradition is: the boys and hubby getting a tree from our property, bringing it home, where it's always WAYYYYY too big. Watch hubby chop it shorter...skinnier...lop off more branches...until it FINALLY fits in our living room. Then, my daughter and I decorate, with all homemade ornaments.
