Well we've had some really wild weather here over the last few days, lots of heavy rain and gale force winds which resulted in our town losing its power for a few hours a couple of times. Each time it went off I was just about to do this post about my latest cushions. The plus side of losing the power though is that I now have a lovely clean and organised kitchen! One of those things I had been meaning to do for a while but it never seemed to be the right time. Anyway now that the wind has died down here are the two cushions that I made out of my Hunky Dory fabrics that I bought that I bought at my new LQS.
I decided to go with a simple log cabin design and frame the large scale print in the middle. The blue dot fabric is a Michael Miller print.
Then I just did some straight line quilting down each log echoing the frames. This pink one also includes some pink 'Swirly buds' by Heather Bailey and a print from Sandi Henderson's 'Ginger Blossom'.
The prints on the back of the pink cushion are by Anna Griffin (butterflies) and Lila Tueller.
This striped fabric was a great find at Spotlight which seems to go with a lot of other prints I have.
And although I'm tempted to keep these myself I have them up for sale in my shop!

Your cushions are so pretty. I love the little finishing touch: the wonderful buttons made with different fabrics. perfect!
Wow, very pretty. They don't work for anything in my decor or that of any of my friends (what can I say, we are all earth tone people) but I love the design and soft look.
these are beautiful. i love the buttons on the back
I would love colourful cushions like those Catherine I too recently bought some of the hunky dory fabrics I love them soo much!
Love and hugs Georgie xx
Soooo pretty!
Love your choices of fabric - they look great!
So, so pretty. How gorgeous are some of the colours in the Hunky Dory range. I had ordered some of the basics from Hancocks but they have gone missing (sniff, sniff).
Catherine! Your cushions are beautiful. I have a feeling these will be flying off the shelf!
Envious of the clean kitchen. Unfortunately mine needs an overhaul something fierce (kinda like your wind).
These are really nice. You have a knack of putting fabrics together.. I recently made a railfence top of a hunky dory jellyroll and am so not loving it... going to unpick it all! but love these!
