Spent lots of time in my garden, planting, re-arranging plants, weeding and harvesting a crop of carrots. They don't look as uniform as carrots that you buy but I'm sure they will be much tastier.
Filled up the biscuit tins for the coming week. I made Chocolate Chippies (with big chunks of dark almond chocolate) and Chocolate mint cream biscuits, a recipe I put together myself which is just a plain chocolate biscuit sandwiched together with peppermint icing. This is the second batch I've made because they disappear very quickly!
...noticed some unusual cloud formation out our kitchen window on Sunday afternoon.
Made pizza for Sunday night dinner which is become a family tradition in our house this year. I actually make two, the other one has garlic/potato(thinly sliced)/fresh rosemary & Parmesan. Sometimes the girls help me and sometimes not but the bonus of having pizza on Sunday night is I always save a couple of pieces for the girls lunches on Monday making it a quick lunch to put together on Monday morning.
And today I finally got around to making our Christmas cake. I have had the dried fruit soaking since Friday night meaning to make it over the weekend but both days I went out into the garden and completely forgot about making it. I have also been sewing today. It is something for me and something I haven't sewn in a long time so its a lovely change. I shall share in the next day or so;-)
Hope you too had a lovely productive weekend.

Seriously, Catherine....you NEED to put that Choc Mint Biscuit recipe on your blog. STAT!! ;)
What an ingenious idea...no wonder they disappear quickly :)
Super productive Catherine! Did you have a break today after all that cooking. You may find this strange but I would love to eat those raw carrots. I bet they were so yummy. I can imagine a nice cup of black tea and nibbling on one of your biscuits.
Great picture of the clouds. I have never seen such a formation before.
MMmmm those biscuits sure look yummy... I too would be interested in the recipe... pretty please?
Looks like you have had a very productive weekend overall... I wonder that you had time to sew as well!
oh my that pizza looks unreal!!! and so so good. i wish i had a full biscuit tin, full of yummy peppermint cream cookies.
Oh my Catherine! You had a productive weekend. Those biscuits look absolutely delicious... nothing better than chocolate and peppermint if you ask me :) I bet those carrots will be much tastier too :) The last bunch of store bought carrots had horribly tough unedible cores (is that the right term for a carrot?)... they were so tough and chewy.
I've been spending lots of time in my small little garden too, taking care of my roses with great delight, throwing blood and bone with reckless abandon and watering them. They have never looked healthier... except yesterday morning the 120km winds got to one poor rose and has dismembered it... My heart sank :( I will have to give this rose extra TLC now!! Looking forward to seeing what you are sewing.
Looks like a yummy weekend in your house!
My boys are very taken with the look of your mint biscuits! LOVE the cushion too - the pinwheel centre is perfect.
So envious of your carrots, I ne
Ver have any sucsess with mine. Love the piped biccies, very special!
I agree with Renee! I don't do much cooking but I bake sometimes and might be coaxed to make those chocolate cookies if you put up the recipe... :)
those are some very apocalyptic looking clouds you saw outside your window... i saw a murder of crows yesterday on my walk (there were about 60 of them all together). those kinds of things give me the willies...
