In honour of Valentines Day....

This is what I've been working on every night for the last week while watching TV ( I hate to have idle hands!). I started off with a basic wooden heart purchased on a whim from Spotlight with no fixed idea how I was going to decorate it. I found some leftover red bias binding with tiny white hearts and wound it all the way around. Got out some red and white fabrics plus a little pink and started adding some yo yo flowers with buttons on one side.

Then on the other side I made some felt beaded flowers and another with fabric, felt and a button centre.

To finish it off I made a felt heart ornament studded with beads to hang in the centre.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out and it was fun to make. We don't exchange Valentines gifts anymore but when my husband packed his bag to go away this week I snuck in a little surprise present for him. Sometimes its the little gestures that mean more. What did you do for Valentines this year??

This is so cute! We don't do much for V-Day. With my B-Day so close, hubby gets a 2-fer on the gifting and I hate going out on crowded dining days.

We don't always do gifts for valentines day - but since we were out shopping the day before we gifted each other what we bought. LOL! No surprises there. :)

That is so cute and it looks like a very fun project to work on! You are from New Zealand? My mom and dad met there when my mom was 16 and my dad was a missionary! I want to go visit there someday. I keep telling my husband that we are taking a "holiday" there next Christmas :)

Thanks for entering my giveaway and for your sweet comments. Have a great day!
