Last week I cleaned Amelia's bedroom, clearing out all the toys she has got too old for. Her room now better represents her age and her status of being a 'High school girl". We decided she needed some floor cushions to sit on ( she has a small room and no room for a chair) so I came up with these 2 cushions. They are made using an Amy Butler free pattern which I had printed out a few months ago but was waiting for the excuse to try it out. I'm really pleased with the resulting cushions. I used up leftover fabric scraps from other projects ( including her frock quilt) . Even the bias binding trim wasleftover from previous projects. The pink one is smaller than the other because I forgot to add the seam allowance but still a good size.
The other side of the cushions.
When I made the cushion inner it ended up too big because I had forgotten that the bias trim would make the cushion smaller so I made a smaller inner for it and a larger cushion cover for the too big inner.( I think that all makes sense!!)

these are amazing...i love the shape of them. what a fun thing to have in a bedroom....perhaps my kiddo needs one. we really could not get a chair in her room either.
These are great cushions. I love them. I should try to make some for my daughters room. She would really like that.
They look awesome! :)
Those are so cute! She's going to love sitting and lounging around on them. Nice job, they are really pretty, Catherine.
I can't ever use anything like that in this zoo- too much pet hair, it's always lurking and waiting to get on anything and everything. I don't think anyone wants to sit on a hairy pillow!
Pretty pillows. Such an unusual and eye-catching shape!
I LOVE the shape...and great fabric!! I think they are the right combination of girly and "grown up"!! Fabulous!!
wow..that's so pretty...is that free pattern still available online, please post the link if you have the link...i would love to sew one for myself...
They look really great! I bet Amelia is really pleased!

Those pillows are great... I should start making pillows to use up some of my smaller pieces too!
