Birthday giveaway!!

Birthday giveaway goodies
So when I said I'd have a giveaway later in the week I didn't quite mean this much later but hey it's the school holidays so the girls have been keeping me busy.
This giveaway is my way of thanking everyone who visits my blog regularly and for those who leave me sweet encouraging comments as well. I hope you like this little sewing related package of goodies I have put together for you. Included are, a charm pack of  the Freebird by Momo fabrics, 3 skeins of pearl thread for hand quilting in coordinating colours, a reel of Gutermann sewing thread, pretty pastel quilting pins, a pack of assorted needles and lastly a pincushion made by me from a free pattern by Heather Bailey.
If this sounds like something you'd like to win all you have to do to enter is leave me a comment telling me your most memorable birthday or birthday gift. The good thing about having a birthday in October is the weather is usually nice and sunny and it's also scallop season!
I'm going to leave this giveaway open till next Thursday so everyone has plenty of time to enter and
overseas entries are most welcome!!

Happy birthday! That sure is a lovely give away!
hmmm, Well I always remember the tiny plasic 'fake' iron I got on my 4th birthday.
It's funny what we remember, isn't it!?

Happy Birthday! This is a gorgeous and generous giveaway and I need some freebird in my stash! Best birthday gift ever was meeting my now-husband on my 21st birthday.

Happy Birthday to you!
That is a lovely present, and would be so much better received than the block of cheese my husband bought me for my first birthday as a couple. He bought it because I like cheese! I have since informed him I like cheese but if we're on food I prefer chocolate....

What a lovely giveaway. I think the most memorable birthday presents come from when I was a teenager. When I was thirteen I received a really beautiful royal blue velvet jewellery box. It felt like a present you would give to an adult, so I treasured it for years.

My mom tried to make all my birthdays memorable, as well as the gifts. The ones that stand out the most are my 16th birthday, when she rented a place and threw me a masquerade ball! I had a DJ, a popcorn cart, and a 2 tiered cake...(she called in lots of favors from friends!) and the most recent, before she passed away, she bought me a guitar and arranged for me to take lessons, even though I don't have a musical bone in my body, just because I dreamed of learning.

I hope you have someone that thoughtful in your life, and that this birthday is fabulous for you!

Thanks for the opportunity for the giveaway! :)

Happy Birthday!! How sweet of you to give away such an awesome gift on your special day. My favorite birthday was my 31st. It was the first date with my honey and the beginning of my new and improved life!

Catherine, I like your style! How generous of you to give of yourself (time, talents and treasures) to celebrate your birthday!

My most memorable birthday was the surprise party my husband threw me for my 40th...it was at a friend's house (ruse was pool party) and I had no clue....made two homemade pies to take to my own party! Good thing at the last minute I decided not to go my bathing suit and coverup...obviously I had no clue.

Hoping to get my husband back....his 50th was two weeks ago....I'm planning a surprise party for him two weeks from now....a month AFTER his birthday!

Thanks for letting me reminisce....

My 30th birthday was a good one...a party thrown by my husband and mom and a beautiful birthstone ring from my husband (that I had been wanting for more birthdays than I can count).

Happy birthday, what a generous giveaway, thank you :o)

As for the most memorable, well this year's was memorable, but not in a good way - I ended up having to work ridiculously late, and I had a complete and total falling out with my (now former) best friend, who I had reached a 'last straw' moment with over his selfishness of not only not remembering that it was my birthday, but also wanting to change the night I was going out for it to suit him!

I'm hoping the next one will be better :o/

I don't have a single most memorable birthday, but what I do remember most was that my mom made my birthday cakes from scratch and decorated them. They looked like wedding cakes - 3 tiers and roses all over them. Amazing!

Thanks for the giveaway!

Happy Birthday ! I guess the best gift was a sewing machine from my hubby. Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway.

What a generous pile of giveaway goodies - all of it very useful!!
My most memorable birthday was my 40th and not in a good way. One sister got drunk and went berserk on the rest of the family! Spoiled it completely - and I didn't even invite her (mother did) because she's done it before :-(

I think one of my best gifts was when I was about 8 years old. I wanted a bride doll, but they were quite expensive. My mom took one of my old dolls and had someone fix it up as a bride doll for me. I never knew it was the same doll and years later my parents told me. I still have her.

Love your sewing goodies! We could all have fun with those. May this year be a good one for you.

Super sweet giveaway! Thanks! My most memorable birthday is not my favourite one. It's the one where I was told I had breast cancer. The two birthdays I've had since then are my favourites because each birthday now marks a milestone for which I'm most grateful. I hope I have many more.

My 40th birthday was pretty memorable. We were on a camping holiday in Yorkshire and went to watch some gliders. DH asked me if I thought it was something I'd like to do. I said, "possibly" and he said, "That's good as you're booked to go for a flight in 20 minutes!" It was amazing!
Thanks for the giveaway and if I'm lukcy please choose someone else and send them the gorgeous pincushion as I have one of yours already (and use it loads!)

Happy Birthday!

I have obviously been pretty spoilt because it's hard to choose the "best" birthday. One of the ones I've thinking about recently though is my 16th Birthday. My parents took me to breakfast before school at the Parkroyal Hotel in ChCh. They gave me a sterling silver vespa box which had belonged to a great uncle. The reason I've been thinking about that morning is because the hotel is due to be demolished following the quakes. I'm sure many many others will have memorie's from that building too.

Happy birthday to you hope you were thoroughly spoilt. I have to say I always look forward to opening a gift from my sister in law as she is an amazing paper artist. She makes me the most incredible things out of paper, you would never think it was possible. x

Hope you had a lovely birthday and got totally spoilt. One of my most fav gifts was one I received this year. My hubby gave me a voucher for a massage and a pedicure. It was just divine to go and pamper myself.

Hope you are having a nice Labour weekend :-)

Happy Birthday to you! It's so generous of you to give gifts to others for your birthday celebration. :)

I've had 3 most memorable birthdays.
1) When I turned 30 my dad had 30 pink roses delivered to me at work.
2) When I turned 50 my mom and sister had a "Queen for a Day" high tea for me. We had tea sandwiches and cakes and then my whole family played games together the rest of the afternoon.
3) My 3rd best birthday was the one I just had, my 51st, because I almost died 2 months ago (severe allergic reaction to ibuprofen). So frankly I'm just glad I'm still around to keep having birthdays!!

Happy birthday to you! HOw generous to give one of us a present on your birthday!! My most memorable gift? I think it has to be the Dyson Vacuum Cleaner my parents bought me for my birthday about 6 years ago, I was ecstatic!

Happy Birthday Catherine and thanks for the great giveaway! I am having trouble remembering any memorable birthday gifts at all! hmmm, once my husband surprised me by having flowers delivered to the hairdressers where I was having a birthday hair appointment! That was amazing on so many levels as he isn't known for planning ahead!

Happy Birthday! It is a very generous giveaway. Thank you Catherine. On my 30th birthday a friend organised a mystery flight to Perth (from Sydney). We left on the first flight out if Sysney and came back on the last flight. This meant I only slept 4 hours the whole day. We had a great adventure.

Oh that is a lovely pile of sewing goodness Catherine!

My most memorable birthday so far (I am looking forward to many more!) would be my 21st... Very low key with the ones I love, but my gift was my sewing machine which has kept me happy for many many hours. My worst birthday was my 13th... My fish both died and Nostradamus had predicted the world would end. Of course that didn't happen but I was very upset that Spangle and Ludo died!

One of my favorite childhood birthdays is when there was actually enough snow on the ground for a sledding party. Rare in SW Ohio in early January. It was a lot of fun!
