Using up some fabrics from my stash and enjoying some improv piecing to make up the backing of......
......this quilt and then onto basting and quilting.
Maybe getting a little obsessed with eggs around here :-) We are now getting 2 per day and it feels good to have a dozen eggs in my fridge that are all from our hens. We have spoilt but happy hens I think.....
Yes I even mark on the calender how many we get each day ...
....feeling very 'Martha Stewart' lately with these homemade preserves of Apple butter. So yummy on warm toast. This batch is quite spicy hence it's dark colour.
....And continuing with the 'Martha Stewart' theme we are also enjoying some Lemon Honey made with lemons from our laden lemon tree. It's especially nice swirled into plain yoghurt and served alone or on top of cereal.
Will be back soon with some quilt progress to share so I best get back to pinning those quilt layers together so I actually have something to share sooner rather than later.

Look at those eggs! Your chickens must be happy!
I have to try making apple butter sometime. I have no excuse as we have a little apple tree in our yard filled with apples. It looks delish.
There's nothing like fresh homelaid eggs...:O)Love the blue quilt too...
Lovely eggs - I keep hens too, I have 8 hens at the moment. When I first kept them I use to weigh their eggs each day and record it all on a spreadsheet! No idea why now!! I am truly envious of your lemon tree. Happy pinning :) x
I'm coming round to eat at your place! Oh how much I would save at the supermarket if I had my own free-roaming hens... Surely you can keep them in the close of a block of flats, right?
This reminded me of how we used to write the dates on our bantam eggs in pink felt pen.
The apple cheese looks scrumptious. I can't wait to get started on some preserving this year (if I can get some produce!).

Ooh, fresh eggs. I'd totally be like you writing date on the eggs and number per day on the calendar :)
And the other home mades... Yum. I miss the citrus trees, feijoa trees, avocado trees, grape vines, etc that were common to have in the back yard in NZ.
How wonderful to have a lemon tree! Not really the climate for it here unfortunately ...

I bet it feels fantastic using up your fabrics for the front and back. Seeing those eggs and I am thinking about eggs on toast. Yummm. You are a great cook making all those yummy treats.
mmmmm fresh eggs.... and lemons = how lucky you are. We are going to get eggs and lemons from our market today (neither grow in our garden!!) and make lemon curd x
